Rescued cat now up for adoption

NORTH MIAMI BEACH, Fla. (WSVN) -- A purring sound coming out out of a car revealed a trapped kitten.

A security guard making his daily rounds inside a Miami Gardens shopping center caught a kitten climbing into the engine of a car.

Miami-Dade firefighters pulled the kitten out. Now it's up for adoption. "All they have to do is come in and apply at the Humane Society, fill out an adoption application, and she'll be available, as well as many other cats we have upstairs that are really sweet."

The furry friend now at the Humane Society in North Miami Beach is waiting for a family to take her home.
