Stolen tractor trailer recovered

HOMESTEAD, Fla. (WSVN) -- Police have taken one person into custody after recovering a stolen tractor-trailer.
The suspect gave himself up near the tractor trailer, found in the area of Southwest 177th Avenue and 142th Street, at around 4:30 p.m., Monday, after police tracked it down using its GPS. A second person, however, fled in a white extended cab pickup truck.
Miami-Dade Police sent a police helicopter out after the pickup, but it has not been found.
The tractor trailer was reported stolen out of Palm Beach earlier Friday and was found without its cargo and even stripped of its rims and put on old wheels. It remains unknown what cargo the truck was originally carrying.
Miami-Dade Police is assisting the Florida highway Patrol in the investigation of this crime.
