Flight attendants protest contract negotiations

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (WSVN) -- Airline employees showed off their fighting spirit during one of the busiest traveling weeks of the year.
Spirit Airlines' flight attendants protested for a fair contract outside Fort Lauderdale International Airport.
The employees have been negotiating with the airline since 2007, demanding that negotiations speed up.
"We urge management to come to the table and negotiate fairly, and they have not done so," said President of Local AFA, Jason Meyer. "It's taken five years to get to this point, and we'll do whatever it takes to get an agreement that represents a fair contract for our work group."
The National Mediation Board has stepped in to buffer talks between both sides.
More protests are planned in several airports across the country.
