Bus driver, attendant fired after boy choked

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (WSVN) -- The Broward School Board has agreed to fire two transportation employees after an autistic child was choked on a school bus.
The Broward County School District fired 48-year-old school bus attendant Darryl Blu on Tuesday.
Investigators said Blu was caught on surveillance video choking a 13-year-old autistic boy. Despite the boy crying in pain, Blu continued to pull on his harness.
After detectives reviewed the surveillance video, Blu was arrested and charged with child abuse.
The boy's mother, Bertis Paulino said, "No parent should go through this. I have been giving my son a very good life, and now his life is shattered."
The bus driver has been fired in this case.
Paulino said her son is now afraid of strangers and afraid to get on the school bus.
