Hotel owner recovering after helicopter crash

UNDATED (WSVN) -- The owner of a luxury South Florida hotel is recovering after a helicopter crash.

The owner of the Fontainebleau Hotel, Jeffrey Soffer, is recovering at a hospital after a helicopter crash on Thursday.

The helicopter reportedly tried to land in the Bahamas when a gust of wind sent it spiraling.

The chopper crashed near the exclusive Baker's Bay Golf and Ocean Club on Great Guana Cay.

Published reports said real estate tycoon, Soffer walked away with non-life threatening injuries.

One person died and two others were injured.
