Pedestrian struck by pickup recovering in hospital

LAUDERHILL, Fla. (WSVN) -- A pedestrian remains in the hospital after being struck by a vehicle.

The accident occurred at about 8 p.m. Monday along Northwest 19th Street and 31st Avenue. Police said there was a bike on the scene as well, but it remains unclear if the victim was riding it at the time.

Rescue crews transported the victim to Broward Health Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale with critical injuries.

The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with police.
