Driver plunges into canal, 2 rescued

NORTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, Fla. (WSVN) -- Two people are recovering after the car they were riding in plunged into a canal.

The accident happened Thursday, just before 5:30 p.m. near Northwest 57th Avenue and 183rd Street. Skyforce HD hovered over the scene as someone appeared and offered a dry towel to an elderly woman.

Crews rescued the pair from the submerged vehicle and transported one to an area hospital with minor injuries.
