Police arrest man found on roof of building

MIAMI (WSVN) -- Miami Police had to call in the fire department to help make a rooftop arrest, early Monday morning.
Officers responded to a strip mall along Flagler Street and 12th Avenue at around 1 a.m. Once police arrived, they found a man on the roof of a building. When officers confronted him, they said he threw objects at them. Police officers handcuffed the man but couldn't get him down.
That's when authorities called the City of Miami Fire Department and had crews pull out a ladder and a lift bucket to assist the handcuffed man down to the ground safely "With all the vandalism and burglaries it happens sometimes where we are called out to assist the police department, to remove the people from certain areas, it's typical of these strip malls," said Miami Fire Rescue Captain David Nunez.
Police later took the man into custody.
Police continue to investigate why the man was on top of the roof.
