Shots fired at restaurant parking lot

HIALEAH, Fla. (WSVN) -- Police are on the scene after shots were fired in a KFC parking lot.

The incident occurred at a KFC restaurant located on West 49th Street and Eighth Avenue in Hialeah on Monday evening.

Police said a man approached a red Chevrolet in the parking lot with a gun and fired shots into the car. The suspect then took off with an unknown item from inside the vehicle.

Paramedics treated the victim on the scene. He suffered cuts and scratches on his left hand from shattered glass due to the gunshots. Police said he was not shot.

Police are now searching for the suspect who they believe fled the scene in a dark-colored sedan.
