Battery thief on the run

WEST PARK, Fla. (WSVN) -- A battery bandit was almost left stranded at the scene of the crime.

Police said the thief locked his keys inside his getaway car along 44th Avenue and Southwest 18th Street, Tuesday night.

Surveillance cameras rolled as the man loaded two batteries into the car. He then closes the back door but then realized it was locked. The thief eventually smashed a window to get in.

The bandit took two more batteries before driving away.
