Pedestrian struck, killed on highway

SOUTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, Fla. (WSVN) -- Police said a man was struck and killed on the turnpike, Tuesday night.

Officials are trying to figure out why the man was walking along the turnpike in Southwest Miami-Dade. A truck driving southbound near Bird Road hit the victim, who died on scene.

One of the two southbound lanes was temporarily shut down.

Police are investigating.
