Art Basel to kick off on Miami Beach

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. (WSVN) -- South Florida is all about art this week as Art Basel hits Miami Beach.
The Miami Beach Convention Center is filled with $500 million worth of artwork as several people attended the preview of the 11th annual Art Basel, Wednesday.
More than 2,000 artists from all over are showcasing their work in several different forms. "I think that the impact in work and creating jobs and the economics and the artists that comes from not only the United States but from all over the world," said City of Miami Beach Mayor Matti Herrera-Bower.
Over the next couple of days and into the weekend art lovers will flock to the convention center to get a look and maybe even buy some of the great pieces on display. "We've been coming to Art Basel for the past 10 years, ever since it came to Miami Beach. It's fabulous," said Dina Stewart.
Art Basel opens to the public Thursday and runs through Sunday.
