Judge rejects new trial in Brewer's case

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (WSVN) -- A request has been rejected for a Deerfield Beach teen convicted in the Michael Brewer burning trial.
A judge has denied Matthew Bent's third attempt at getting a new trial, Wednesday.
Bent's lawyers argued that during the trial, one of the jurors had been bullied into reaching a guilty verdict.
Bent could be sentenced as early as Thursday.
The victim, Michael Brewer suffered burns to more than 65 percent of his body.
Bent was accused of being the ring leader who encouraged two other teens to douse Brewer in alcohol, and set him on fire in 2009.
