Jury selection underway in murder case

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (WSVN) -- Time for trial for a man accused of killing his mother.

A jury selection is underway for Gerard Lopes Belmonte's trial on Wednesday.

Prosecutors said Belmonte killed his adoptive mother, 43-year-old Natalie Belmonte, inside their home in Pembroke Pines back in July.

The woman's body was later found in a marshy area near the home.

Belmonte has been charged with murder.
