1-year-old boy drowns after falling in family pool

LAUDERHILL, Fla. (WSVN) -- Police have confirmed a 1-year-old toddler has died after drowning in family's pool.

Police said the boy was home with a grandmother and another adult at the time of the drowning.

The family told police they had a few of the doors in the home open, including the back door that led to the pool, because the weather was breezy. That is when they believe the 1-year-old boy wandered outside and fell into the pool.

The toddler left the home in critical condition but did not survive the drowning.

Paramedics and doctors tried to revive the little boy who fell into his family's pool Wednesday afternoon for a lengthy amount of time but were not successful.
