FPL give free Christmas trees to families

MIAMI (WSVN) -- A South Florida company gave away free Christmas trees to spread the holiday cheer.
Little TJ, his brother and dad are one of 200 families that showed up to buy a Christmas tree, but received some great news.
Florida Power & Light gave out free Christmas trees at the Boys and Girls Club of Miami-Dade on Southwest 32 Avenue Wednesday afternoon.
The trees are an early present for some families from FPL. "It helps out a lot you know, with the economy its really bad. Gas prices are high and this helps me out a lot," said a man who received a free Christmas tree.
When the community heard the news about the free Christmas trees, the line got bigger and bigger as time went by. "It was so moving. Everyone was so appreciative and so happy, so thankful and for me personally, that gave me more then we gave them," said FPL Heather Kirkendall
Boys and Girls club of Miami-Dade Alex Rodriguez Floyd said, "It always feels good. It always feels better to give back then to take.
No one had to qualify for the free giveaway.
"It's wonderful. It's a free Christmas tree," said a man.
The spirit of the holidays proves that this time of the year is all about giving. "It's the most wonderful time of the year," said a man.
The free Christmas tree giveaway has ended.
The Boys and Girls Club are selling Christmas trees and all the money will go towards the organization.
