Police search for suspect in UM dorm burglary

CORAL GABLES, Fla. (WSVN) -- Police have taken one person into custody and continue to search for another, after a burglary occurred at a dorm room at the University of Miami.

According to police, at around 6 p.m. Wednesday, a burglary occurred at one of the dorm rooms at UM. Police arrived on the scene but later cleared. Police said the suspect's returned to the campus.

Police have arrested one person, but continue to search for another suspect that fled on foot

A text message and email alert was sent out to all students.

The UM campus is not on lock down.

Police are searching a silver vehicle for possible clues. They believe the suspects are known to the victim.
