Family's Christmas presents stolen

PLANTATION, Fla. (WSVN) -- A family returned home to find Christmas stolen from beneath them. Toys, clothes and other items are all gone.

The home of a single mother of two was left completely ransacked. "All of this stuff was out," said Shina Jean-Baptiste. "All of the toys, the kid's toys were all in here, it's empty."

Thieves got away with the Plantation family's holiday spirit. "My kid's Noobys. I purchased both my kids Noobys. I also purchased them Leap Frog games and a Leap Frog handheld system. I purchased four board games."

After going to work on Friday, Shina came home and found her bedroom window shattered. "A rock," said Jean-Baptiste, "that's actually what started it." Both her room and her children's room were left destroyed. "This is all their clothes, all wet with urine."

She said they also stole a laptop, a DVD player and anything they could get their hands on. "They left nothing," said Jean-Baptiste. "They went through in here, went through my papers, took some purses, shoes, it's just disgusting. It's sad. Makes you wonder what kind of people do this during the holidays."

Shina said she feel violated and does not know how she will give her two kids a Christmas this year. "Christmas is going to be very different," said Jean-Baptiste. "I think it's gonna be hard on my kids for one because it's the first Christmas without mommy and daddy together, but I think what's gonna be even more painful is that I tried to make it so special, and they stripped them from all of that."

The bedroom window has since been replaced. However, she doesn't think she will be able to replace the presents she was planning on putting underneath the Christmas tree.
