A little girl chooses to give back on her birthday

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (WSVN) -- A little girl spread the spirit with South Florida's very own Big Mama.

The 8-year-old celebrated her birthday by giving to those in need.

She asked for all of her guests to bring toys for Big Mama to donate to children who are less fortunate. "I think the needy people need more presents because it's better to give than to get," said Francesca Seguin.

"Eight years old that's giving her gifts to someone she's never known," said Essie "Big Mama" Reed. "Never seen, never looked at, that's very special."

Big Mama showed up dressed as Mrs. Claus to collect the table of toys and got a gift of her own.

All Stars Gymnastics donated $1,000 to Big Mama and her charity, Team of Life.
