Fire breaks out at temple, Torah spared

SURFSIDE, Fla. (WSVN) -- Religious scriptures were spared after a local temple caught fire.

At about 7 p.m., a group of people carried out a Torah Sunday night from the Magen David Congregation Temple on 93rd Street and Harding Avenue.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue arrived on scene and extinguished the flames. No injuries were reported and it remains unknown what caused of the fire.
