Officer involved in ATV accident heads to trial

MIAMI (WSVN) -- An former Miami Beach Police officer who was charged with causing an ATV accident will head to trial in April.

The crash left two tourists seriously injured last year.

Derick Kuilan offered a bride-to-be he met at a Miami Beach bar during a bachelorette party a ride on his department-issued ATV.

Detectives said he was drunk and plowed into two beachgoers.
