Jewelry burglars caught on camera

PALMETTO BAY, Fla. (WSVN) -- Surveillance cameras were rolling as burglars ransacked a jewelry store in Palmetto Bay.
Three men, their faces covered with masks acted quickly. They were caught on camera using a metal cover from the sidewalk to smash the front glass door of Rotunda Jewelers, near Southwest 184th Street and 98th Avenue.
The burglary occurred in late November. Dana Munsey the store's owner, said, "On Thanksgiving morning I was preparing to have dinner with the family, looking forward to a brisk business for Christmas season, and I get a call that I had a break in early on Thanksgiving morning."
In a matter of seconds, the three thieves smashed display cases and stole precious jewels worth about $5,000 in jewels. "I expected to come in to work on Black Friday to sell," said Munsey. "Instead. I ended up having to clean up a big mess."
Now Munsey has his store back in order, just in time for the holidays and is asking the community for help in identifying the bandits. "I'd like anybody that has information if they can recognize these guys, if they can call Crime Stoppers and see if they don't do it to somebody else."
If you have any information on this burglary, call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS. Remember, you can always remain anonymous, and you may be eligible for a reward.
