SOUTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, Fla. (WSVN) -- A cause for concern for parents after a video posted on-line showed students from a South Florida high school playing a slap game while security guards looked on.

One of the videos was posted on-line on Nov. 21. The school district was made aware of it earlier Thursday, when 7News sent it over to them, and it raises serious questions about school security.

The videos were posted on Facebook and YouTube. One of them is called "Slap Fest."

In it, you see exactly what the title describes: students hitting each other right across the face, open handed.

Multiple students have told us this happened inside the cafeteria at Miami Coral Park Senior High school in Southwest Miami-Dade.

They say the events happened in front of two school security guards. They identify the man straight ahead in the hooded sweatshirt and the man to his right, wearing the dark colored jacket with the word "security" on the back, as security guards. Those men, as seen in the videos, do nothing to stop the "Slap Fest" right in front of them.

In the crowd you even hear a reference to security.

Video audio: "The security guard is just there like."

We showed the video to parents of teens who attend the school.

Parent, Rosa Gonzalez: "Wow. This is horrible. Wow. "

Parent, Darnita Bown: "I think the security guards are thinking it's all a big joke."

Reporter: "And if it wasn't?"

Parent, Darnita Bown: "And if it wasn't, for sure something needs to be done."

In the videos, the students involved are not hostile to each other before or after the slaps. The videos are about one minute long.

One teacher tells 7News security as a whole at the school does not worry him.

Teacher, Jose de Armas: "I think we have great security people here. I've been here, like I said, six years. I'm speaking for my experiences here. I don't know how this came up."

A spokesman with the Miami-Dade County School Board released this statement to 7News: "The principal was able to view the video. We will be speaking with our employees tomorrow, and if it is found they were neglecting their duties there will be serious consequences."

Because the school district was just made aware of the videos, there is no word on what may or may not happen to those men identified as school security guards.
