H&M Aventura holds grand opening

AVENTURA, Fla. (WSVN) -- H&M has opened its second location in Miami-Dade.

The new store, located inside the Aventura Mall, will feature two floors and over 20,000 square feet of space. This location will have the first children's department in Miami.

To celebrate, H&M offered the first 250 shoppers in line an H&M T-shirt and access to its Fashion Pass, valued from $10 to $300.

The H&M grand opening caused quite the line at the Aventura Mall, with some waiting since midnight on Friday and others even ditching school to be at the opening. "I'm a senior in High School. I got into college last night, so I don't have to go anymore," said one person waiting in line.

The Swedish retailer opened a flagship store last month inside the historic Art Deco Lincoln Road Theater in Miami Beach, where the crowds went wild.

"H&M is like the European Forever 21, except it's cheaper and even better," said one shopper.

The new location, located near the Cheescake Factory, will be open Monday thru Saturday from 10 a.m. till 9:30 p.m. and on Sundays from 12 p.m. till 8 p.m.
