Child critically injured after car hits him

LAUDERHILL, Fla. (WSVN) -- A child was seriously injured after a car struck him in the street Saturday.

The 8-year-old was playing outside when he somehow wandered into the street.

A car struck him on Northwest 27th Street and 56th Avenue.

Rescue crews airlifted the child to Broward Health Medical Center in critical condition.

The driver remained on the scene.
