Chick-fil-A rewards 2 employees

LAUDERHILL, Fla. (WSVN) -- A local Chick-fil-A celebrated two outstanding employees this holiday season.

Managers at the restaurant at 8190 West Commercial Blvd. named a longtime kitchen worker Employee of the Year at its holiday party. Dawn Thomas is deaf and mute, but her disabilities have not stopped her from being a team leader. "Twenty-four years, and you can count the days that she's not here," said a manager. "She always comes through. She knows the kitchen better than anyone else."

Thomas said she is happy about her achievement. "I'm feeling great. God blessed me. I love everybody, and I work hard for them."

In the spirit of giving, Chick-fil-A rewarded another employee with a $1,000 scholarship for his college education.
