Man arrested after shooting 2 teens

LAUDERDALE LAKES, Fla. (WSVN) -- A South Florida man is in jail after shooting two teenagers, killing one of them.

Police arrested Elijah Ellington on Tuesday.

Broward Sheriff's Office detectives said the two 17-year-olds were walking east on 44th Street and near State Road Seven when they crossed paths with Ellington. The three got into an argument, and that's when Ellington pulled out a handgun and opened fire on the teens.

One of the teens suffered serious injuries while the other was grazed by a bullet.

Rescue crews airlifted the gravely injured teen to Broward Health Medical Center, where doctors pronounced him dead. The other was treated at an area hospital and released.
