MIAMI (WSVN) -- A South Florida teen accused of killing his classmate has been placed on house arrest.

Jordyn Howe will be released from the Juvenile Detention Center with an ankle-monitoring bracelet.

However, his trial remains pending as a judge will decide whether he will be tried as an adult on manslaughter charges sometime in January.

Howe stands accused of shooting 13-year-old  Lourdes Guzman-DeJesus on a school bus in Homestead, last month.

Police said the shooting appears to be accidental.
