Community holds vigil for Sandy Hook shooting victims

NORTH MIAMI, Fla. (WSVN) -- The South Florida community is coming together to show support for the victims of the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary.
North Miami Mayor Andre Pierre gathered with city officials at Griffon Park, located on 121st Street and West Dixie Highway, Thursday night.
The community came together and held a candlelight vigil for those affected by last Friday's senseless shooting. "We are all human beings, therefore we should be there for people who are in problems," said Community Director and Event Organizer Dr. Smith Joseph. "That's why we are here, to let the people of Newtown, Conneticut know that we are there, and that we do care for them, and we will be there. Our hearts are with them."
