Crooks rip off door to rob beauty store
MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (WSVN) -- Thieves left some serious damage to a beauty supply store after busting out the doors to get into the business and burglarize it.
Workers arrived at the Diamond Girl Beauty supply store, located at Northwest 159th Street and 27th Avenue, Friday morning to replace the door. It appeared to have been yanked out using a chain and vehicle.
The store had many surveillance cameras that caught the whole thing as it happened, from a hand grubbing around at the bottom of the door to attach a hook to the crooks running around inside, snatching up pricey items from the store's inventory.
The thieves struck early Friday morning, at around 5:15. "They come in and take as much hair as they can and they leave," said Ihab Abdalah, who helps run the business.
Cameras outside caught two cars pulling up to the front of the store. One person seems to attach something to the door and shutter outside. A camera caught the door being yanked off its frame from the inside.
Once inside, the crooks ransacked the business. Abdalah holds the twisted remains of a door to a display case. "This door he just completely kicked it in and stole the clippers, which were inside the showcase, and which are expensive professional clippers, and they just filled them up in the garbage bags."
The thieves made off with cash and merchandise. "You're going to see them take off with all the hair," said Abdalah, "go in the office, take the money, and you're also going to see them just keep taking hair and clippers as well as driers."
The damage and destruction and loss has these business owners hoping to see these people arrested. "This hurts our business a lot, knowing that you can't feel safe when no one's around anymore, just knowing that you're in business so long, that you've done so much and know that in the blink of an eye that someone can come in and take away your hard work like that."
Three people seemed to be involved the burglary. If you have any information on this burglary, call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS. Remember, you can always remain anonymous, and you may be eligible for a reward.
