Family escapes house fire

NORTH MIAMI, Fla. (WSVN) -- A home in North Miami was smothered by smoke and flames.

Firefighters said a fire ignited on the second floor of the home at Northwest 16th Avenue and 121st Street in North Miami.

The family escaped unharmed even as flames quickly burned through the rest of the house.
