Airports experience peak in travel season

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (WSVN) -- It's time to travel.

South Floridians took to the skies, trying to make it home for the holidays.

A few last minute flyers crowded Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport. More Floridians are expected to travel this year, than last. But the holiday rush taking off smoothly.

"Everything looks great," said Mandy Vincent. "I checked in within five minutes. It was great. Better than ever."

Nationwide, nearly 42-million travelers are expected to hit the skies. A bonus this year: Lower holiday airfares.
