Big Mama continues to provide gifts for children

DANIA BEACH, Fla. (WSVN) -- Big Mama and her Team of Life has already given away thousands of toys. But she's not done yet. South Florida's Santa made another stop.

"The community, Channel 7News did it again," said Big Mama.

Essie Reed, also known as Big Mama and her helpers delivered toys to children who need it most at C.W. Thomas Park in Dania Beach. "Thank you for this," said Yasmin Sears. "I had nothing before it. I love you."

"I really appreciate her," said Alicia Mitchell, "and I know that every child and parent who are with children appreciate her because a lot of people themselves wouldn't come out to do this."

Dolls, stuffed animals, and cars. The kids took home any toy of their choice.

More importantly, Big Mama made sure everyone went home with a smile. "Thank you Big Mama for all the gifts. I love you," said Alexia.

Just one stop of many. Big Mama is distributing toys in multiple neighborhoods across South Florida and more stops are planned through until Christmas day. "I always want my community to know we cannot put those smiles without your faces," said Reed. "It's about the children. For anybody to take the time from they busy schedule to go from one city to another city just to make sure she puts a smile of somebody's face, I think it's a good thing."

With the help of Channel 7 viewers, Big Mama collected more than 50,000 toys.

The outcome: Priceless.
