Police officers deliver Christmas toys to hospital kids

MIRAMAR, Fla. (WSVN)-- A group of South Florida police officers are spreading Christmas cheer wearing their badges and Santa hats.
The Miramar Police Department teamed up with Walmart to deliver toys to children at Joe DiMaggio children's hospital for the third year in a row.
Ten officers delivered the gifts on Christmas Eve and spent time with the kids.
"I saw the effect it had on them, and how it made them smile, and brought Christmas to them in a moment when they were in the hospital," said officer Carlos Villalona.
The annual tradition was inspired by a fellow officer's daughter, who died of cancer in 2009.
