Time is almost up for last minute shoppers

DORAL, Fla. (WSVN) -- Time's up at the major malls but shoppers still have a little bit of time left at select stores.
It happens every year, last minute shopping. We've all had weeks to get ready for tomorrow, yet parking lots were full Monday as the last hours before Christmas arrived. "It was pretty easy," said Morgan Massicottee. "Some stores had more people than others but it was pretty easy to walk around."
Retail experts said if you waited till the last minute this year hoping to find a bargain, your bet may have paid off. We won't know how much exactly American's spent this year for a few more weeks but analysts expect the growth from last year to be modest.
Some families made the trip to South Florida the biggest part of the gift. "We come on the 24th," said Trisha Klancar, "and we have a limit for everybody and it's just small things cause it's a big trip for us."
Most of the crowds found at the stores could be blamed on good old fashion procrastination. "I'm Santa's helper today," said Anita Mohan. "I'm doing some last minute shopping."
But many people seemed to have the right attitude even with the crowds and the traffic they still had fun. "Great day," said Klancar. "Great day, awesome shopping," said Massicottee.
If you still have some last minute shopping to do, Toys R Us at the International Mall in Doral will remain open until 10 p.m. Monday night.
