2012 So. Fla. NYE events set to delight revelers

MIAMI (WSVN) -- The new year is not here yet, but "La Gran Naranja" is ready to rise to the occasion Dec. 31.
The iconic orange's yearly ascent to the top of Downtown Miami's Hotel Inter-Continental is just one of many New Year's Eve options South Florida residents will have to choose from Monday night.
Revelers don't have to wait for Dec. 31 to ring in the New Year. Residents may choose the King Mango Strut parade, Coconut Grove's annual tradition, which takes place Sunday. People show up in costumes to mock some of the dumbest news events that made headlines in 2012.
A large stage is already going up over the pool at the famed Fontainebleau Miami Beach Hotel to host an all-day, all night poolside party.
Miamians opting for dark lighting and bottle service can head inside Club Liv, Fontainebleau's night club. Famed DJ Calvin Harris is expected to spin and work up the crowd.
For those families with children tagging along for the night, Downtown Fort Lauderdale offers music and dancing fun. An 825-pound illuminated ball is set to drop at midnight Monday night.
The rooftop at Miami's Hotel Inter-Continental will host an only-in-South-Florida celebration equipped with a view, complete with private tables, a large LED display and a live stage.
When the clock strikes midnight. "La Gran Naranja" will begin creeping up the side of the building to kick off 2013-- only in Miami.
