New year, new laws for Florida drivers

MIAMI (WSVN) -- The new year will be bringing new laws to Florida drivers.

Effective on Jan. 1, it will no longer be illegal to flash your headlights to alert drivers of police traps.

Officials also say, school buses will be able to travel the speed limit if it's higher than 55 mph.

The new laws also approving specialty license plates for some Vietnam veterans and Combat Infantry Badge honorees.

Other laws effective starting Tuesday, free state ID's for the homeless and specialty plates for retired state politicians.
