MIAMI (WSVN) -- If your not sure where to party tonight and ring in the new year, you can check out the following events happening around town.
BAYFRONT PARK NEW YEARS EVE -- Downtown Miami Revelers partake in the Red Bull Soundclash featuring Ludacris and Mike Posner. The gates open at 7 p.m. and the show begins at 9 p.m. Also, the Big Orange Ball drops at midnight at Intercontinental Hotel along with the fireworks.
KING MANGO STRUT PARADE -- 2 p.m. on New Year's Eve, the 30th annual King Mango Strut Parade Grand Marshall Ron Magill of Zoo Miami leads the parade of floats in Coconut Grove. The annual satirical street parade has been a model of civic engagement and civil uprising with enough material for a pickapeppa spray and sauce combination. In this interactive parade, the spectators, the true occupiers, are encouraged to bring tents, lawn chairs and cardboard signs. Location: Parade starts on Main Highway and Commodore Plaza.
ORANGE DRIVE MUSIC FESTIVAL -- From Dec. 30, 2011 to Jan. 1, 2012, the Orange Bowl Committee and Miami Beach host a 3 day music festival on Ocean Drive between 7th to 9th St. On Friday, doors open at 6 P.M. with performances by Pete Wentz and Black Cards, Boyz II Men, and Gym Class Heroes from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. On New Year's Eve, DJ Irie, Jason Derulo, and Ne-Yo perform before the fireworks and Jermaine Dupri performs after midnight with the show going until 2 a.m. On New Year's Day, Samantha Ronson, Cobra Starship, and Cee Lo Green perform from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. with doors opening at 5 P.M. DOWNTOWN FT. LAUDERDALE COUNTDOWN -- From 4 p.m. - 8 p.m., the City of Ft. Lauderdale kicks off its free New Year's Eve Celebration "Fort Lauderdale Orange Bowl Downtown Countdown" for families. Kids enjoy the early ball lightning and countdown at 7 p.m. The festivities for kids include bounce houses/inflatables, face painting and games, contests and dancing with the DJ. Beginning at 9 p.m., live music begins for adults as the party goes until 3 a.m. for an estimated 100,000 revelers. SEMINOLE HARD ROCK NEW YEARS EVE -- Ring in the New Year with Singer, Songwriter, and Actor Paul Anka takes over Hard Rock Live at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino at 10:30 p.m. Anka seamlessly made the transition from '50s teen idol to celebrated songwriter to a contemporary torchbearer for all that swings. THE W MASQUERADE BALL -- The W Fort Lauderdale invite guests to the second annual New Year's Eve Masquerade Ball at Whiskey Blue and Living Room. Guests are invited to celebrate the New Year with a Truman Capote-inspired twist with guests encouraged to wear their black and white duds (masks will be provided) as they indulge in an open bar from 8pm to midnight. At midnight, champagne toast as the black and white masks are removed and the party continues into 2012. After December 20, ticket prices are $125 and call table reservations call 954-414-8300. WESTIN DIPLOMAT -- The Westin Diplomat hosts 3 seperate dinner events at Café, Aizia, and Hollywood Prime. Café has 2 seatings at 6 P.M. and 9 P.M. costings $73 and $92 per person respectively. Aizia has $129 seating per person with music, dancing, and a DJ after 11 P.M. Hollywood Prime has 2 seatings at 6:30 P.M. and 9:30 P.M. costing $149 and $219 per person respectively. GULFSTREAM PARK PARTY AT THE PARK -- Gulfstream Park has a free event with live music and entertainment beginning at 8 P.M. From 6 P.M. to 11 P.M., they have a light show featuring 250,000 lights on a 50 foot tree with 2,000 watts of sound every hour. The light show occurrs every hour from 6 P.M. to 11 P.M. The Park has a countdown to midnight and a ball drop along with a cash bar. Location: 901 S. Federal Hwy. in Hallandale Beach.
