Armed trio robs local electronics store
POMPANO BEACH, Fla. (WSVN) -- Police are searching for three masked men who stormed into an electronics store.
One of them waved around a gun, as they ordered customers and employees to the back stock room. Once there, the trio filled a large bag with cell phones before making their getaway out of the stock room door.
Fortunately, no one was injured. The robbery happened at the Radio Shack near South Pompano Parkway and Atlantic Boulevard, on Sunday, at 6:30 p.m., according to the Broward Sheriff's Office.
"Angie," a Radio Shack employee knows the fear the group probably felt. She was working at the store when it was robbed in August of 2012. "Honestly, I was like praying, and throughout the entire experience, and the entire time, I was like, 'Please, let me get home to my kids.'"
She was working alone when she came face to face with three armed robbers. She was so scared, she did not want to show her face. "He pulled out his gun and told me to go in the back. I went to the back and told me to open the back door."
She complied and two more suspects jumped in and grabbed what they could. All the while, the store's surveillance cameras were catching all the action. Broward Sheriff's Office spokesperson Keyla Concepcion said the camera got a good look at one of the robbers. "He makes a lame attempt at disguising himself," she said, "putting his dreads over his face when he's in the back room, but the whole time he's in the front of the store he's just walking around showing his face to the cameras, which at this point, is our best piece of evidence."
The execution of both robberies are very similar, but right now, investigators are not saying they are connected.
