Three trucks collide, minor injuries

HOMESTEAD, Fla. (WSVN) -- Drivers experienced heavy delays Monday morning after three trucks smashed into each other in a dramatic chain-reaction crash.

The accident happened near State Road 5 and Mile Marker 120. Police said one dump truck hit their brakes trying to avoid a pedestrian on the highway, which caused it to overturn.

Then, another dump truck coming up from behind, overturned as the driver tried to avoid the vehicle on the ground. Then, a tractor trailer driving up the same road was unable to stop and struck both overturned trucks.

All three drivers were transported to Homestead Hospital with minor injuries.

The pedestrian was not hurt.
