Woman survives canal plunge

MIAMI SPRINGS, Fla. (WSVN) -- A woman is OK after making a splash with her car Monday evening in Miami Springs.

The driver of a car lost control and landed in a canal. The woman behind the wheel may have accidentally hit the gas instead of the brake.

It happened near LeJeune Road and Royal Poinciana Boulevard.

She managed to get out safely. No one else was in the vehicle.
