Street shooting affects local businesses

NORTH MIAMI BEACH, Fla. (WSVN) -- Police are still trying to determine the motive behind a street shooting in North Miami Beach, late Monday night, that left one man injured and caused severe damage to four local businesses.
Windows on various establishments along the 1100 block of North Miami Beach Boulevard were left riddled with bullets. The floor was still filled with shattered glass Tuesday evening.
According to North Miami Beach Police Detective Armando Sotero, the unidentified male victim was taken to Jackson North Medical Center Monday night. "He was driving eastbound on North Miami Beach Boulevard," Sotero said.
"At a particular time, a black Nissan pulled up next to him on the driver's side and began firing anywhere between five and 10 gunshots," Sotero continued. "One of those gunshots struck him in the hand."
Details of the shooting, which happened sometime after midnight Monday, are still under investigation.
People who were working at the time were clearly shaken, including a Domino's Pizza employee who asked to be identified as "Pedro." "It's crazy, especially for Domino's," he said. "Do you know what it's like to work here, have people come in, eating, and then people just start shooting?"
According to police, the victim's silver Mercedes Benz was hit at least six times. Police are currently searching for surveillance video that captured the alleged shooter's black Nissan.
