Cleaning worker makes big find at local airport

FORT LAUDERDALE-HOLLYWOOD INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, Fla. (WSVN) -- What would you do if you were walking through the airport and you saw an iPad and $13,000? Would you keep it or would you turn it over to authorities to make sure it got back to it's rightful owner?
Patrick Morgan was teary-eyed and ever humble. He was praised and awarded for what most men would not have done, the right thing.
Morgan's cleaning company was contracted by Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport back in December. As Morgan cleaned Terminal C he spotted a package. "I look over and see the package. It was a folder and I picked it up. I open it and it's an iPad and an envelope. I look in it and there was money. I close it back up," said Morgan.
The Broward Aviation Department recognized Morgan for turning the package over to authorities. The package contained an iPad and $13,000.
Moments later Morgan spotted a man running and panicking as he looked for his belongings. "'I said just don't worry, It's OK we have it.' I feel good about it, knowing that I found it and he can come claim it," said Morgan.
Wednesday, Morgan accepted a letter of appreciation and unbeknownst to him a $625 check but this good guy says he did the right thing, just because. "It's just a good feeling knowing that I returned it and that's the bottom line. I wasn't looking for anything. I really wasn't," said Morgan.
The owner of the iPad and the $13,000 had just returned from Las Vegas and he gave Morgan $60 for his good gesture. Morgan did not keep the $60. He gave some of if to a homeless person and the rest to a co-worker who had fallen on hard times.
