3 generations of police family recognized

MIAMI (WSVN) -- Three generations of Miami-Dade police officers were recognized at County Hall downtown, Tuesday.

The cross-generational law enforcers, Ray Haar Sr., Ray Haar Jr. and Ray Haar III, say they are all proud of their service in the force. "I followed my father everywhere, hung out with all the men that worked for him and wanted to be like him," said Haar Jr. "I can't fill his shoes, but I tried to follow on his footsteps," he added.

Haar Sr. retired 23 years ago after serving more than 35 years. Combined, the three men have about 70 years of service between them.
