Car slams into dump truck, catches fire

NORTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, Fla. (WSVN) -- An accident tied up the early morning commute after a driver slammed into a dump truck, and the car caught on fire.

Flames engulfed the car at about 6 a.m. Wednesday in the northbound lanes of the Turnpike Extension at Okeechobee Road.

Crews shut down several lanes of traffic for hours, as they worked to extinguish the flames and clean up the mess.

No injuries were reported.
