Fort Lauderdale officers face corruption charges

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (WSVN) -- Three Fort Lauderdale policemen who stand accused of several corruption charges appeared at a hearing Friday.

Sergeant Michael Florenco and Detectives Matthew Moceri and Geoffrey Shafer face charges ranging from official misconduct to falsifying records.

Prosecutors said the officers lied to cover up an unjustified car chase. They are also accused of filing false reports in that 2009 case.

Their trial is slated to begin Wednesday.
