School security guard accused of molesting student

MIAMI (WSVN) -- A former security guard at a South Florida high school was arrested for allegedly molesting a student, Friday.
Police say 65-year-old former Homestead Senior High School employee Harold Knight stands accused of inappropriately touching a female student. The former security monitor remains inside the Miami-Dade County jail held on $5,000 bond.
Knight is being charged with one count of battery for allegedly touching the 17-year-old junior inappropriately. Judge Jeffrey Rosinek read the charges to Knight Friday morning.
Meanwhile, Knight's alleged victim said she is still too upset to return to school. "This man physically touched me," said the victim. "He sexually molested me."
Knight had resigned from the school on Thursday. Rosinek deemed the charges serious enough to raise his bond from $1,000 to $5,000. "That's enough for me to increase the bond to keep you away from this young lady," Rosinek told Knight at his hearing Friday.
Earlier this week, the alleged victim and her mother, Cynthia Bacetty, shared her story with 7News. Bacetty claimed that the harassment had been going on for a year, but the alleged touching was too much.
"My daughter is a minor, and it's a sexual act that has been committed against her," Bacetty said, "and somebody needs to do something."
Bacetty's daughter said that, since coming forward, just going to school is difficult. "I don't even want to go to school anymore because this has been going on for so long," the victim said, "and now it's all over the place [and] everybody knows."
Bacetty's family indicated that, even though Knight has resigned from his post, they are still pushing for a restraining order.
