NEAR DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (WSVN) -- A woman paid a deputy $12,000 to stand guard at her daughter's elementary school.
The hiring, which covers two months of armed security, took place due to safety concerns stemming from the school shooting that killed 20 children in Newtown, Conn.
The deputy will patrol the campus of Old Kings Elementary School six hours a day, Monday through Friday.
