Family plea for hit-and-run driver to turn self

NORTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, Fla. (WSVN) -- A South Florida family wants justice after their loved one was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver.
Sixty-seven-year-old Juan Valerio was struck along Northwest 25th Street and 27th Avenue in Northwest Miami-Dade last Friday.
Valerio's son is hoping someone can lead police to the driver responsible. "We have witnesses who saw the car. Unfortunately, no one was able to get the tag number because he ran away immediately," said Marlon Valerio. "It's a hit-and-run and now he's now a killer. This is now a criminal investigation, it's no longer an accident."
Police said they are looking for a 2006 to 2010 silver Chevy Impala with damage to the right front end.
If you have any information on this hit-and-run vehicle, call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS. Remember, you can always remain anonymous, and you may be eligible for a reward.
