Miami officers return from serving in inauguration

MIAMI (WSVN) -- A group of Miami police officers arrived back from Washington, D.C. Tuesday night.

Thirty-eight officers landed at Miami International Airport after working security at the presidential inauguration. The officers were sworn in as federal marshalls to help D.C. police.

"It was a great experience, an honor to be able to partake in the inauguration of the president of this country," said Miami Police Department Deputy Chief Luis Cabrera. "It was amazing, our policemen did an outstanding job. We teamed up with the other departments and it was a successful event," he continued.

The officers worked events before, during and after the ceremony, including crowd control and monitoring the parade route.
